Yahoo! Asia-Pacific has roped in Vaasu Gavarasana from the ad agency Bates 141. Although his designation is not out yet, based in Singapore he would be responsible for managing Yahoo!'s relations with global clients.

In his last assignment, Gavarasana was the executive vice-president and Delhi branch head at Bates 141. Gavarasana has 21 years of experience in the advertising industry and expertise in marketing communication. He has spent 12 years with Interpublic Group (IPG) agencies such as McCann and Lintas, both in India and in Singapore.

Prior to joining Bates 141, Gavarasana was an entrepreneur and was involved with a group buying website called Udrool.com which was to be the 'Google of sales promotion', in the same space as Groupon.com. Unfortunately, after a take off in 2009, the company failed to raise the second round of funding to grow and finally was shut down.
