Online travel agency Cleartrip has appointed Samyukth Sridharan as its president and chief operating officer. Prior to Cleartrip, Sridharan was at the helm of sales and marketing for over 18 years across many industries spanning FMCG, insurance, advertising and aviation.
Most recently, he served as chief commercial officer at Spicejet. He had also served as chief revenue officer and head of marketing at Air Deccan. Sridharan is an IIT Madras graduate with a post-graduate diploma in Management from IIM Bangalore, with a major in Marketing.
Last year, Cleartrip hired Jae Hyung Kim (who came on board from the JPMorgan Group) as president and head of business development.
Cleartrip is one among the top bunch of online travel firms in India, along with Makemytrip.com and Yatra.com. Founded in 2006, it is backed by Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, Sherpalo Ventures, DAG Ventures and Draper Fisher Jurvetson. The company has 350 employees across its three offices â€“ located in Bangalore, Mumbai and Gurgaon.
Recently, it bagged a marketing partnership and $40 million investment from NASDAQ-listed travel management solutions provider Concur.
