Dassault Systemes today partnered with Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation (TIDCO) to build a 3D experience innovation centre in Chennai that will augment growth in MSME, startups and industrial sectors.

“Tamil Nadu Centre of Advance Manufacturing (TANCAM) will be the first-of-its-kind center of excellence (CoE) in the country that will provide a dedicated IT engineering ecosystem to support the MSME sector, startups and students across the state and enable the growth of industries across aerospace, defence, automotive and electric vehicles,” Dassault said in a statement.

The centre will have facilities for an engineering digital platform to support product design, composites, simulation and digital manufacturing, along with a 3D printer- and virtual reality-setup.

Dassault’s alliance will support TIDCO’s plan to focus on precision manufacturing that requires upgrading the skills of MSMEs, the statement added.

The TANCAM Startup Cell along with Dassault’ 3D Experience Lab will fuel an innovation ecosystem for next-generation products and new business models, the statement further read.

Pankaj Kumar Bansal, Chairman and Managing Director of TIDCO, said, “Tamil Nadu has a robust manufacturing ecosystem. The collaboration with Dassault Systemes to set up TANCAM will further equip our state with the latest technologies such as the 3D Experience platform to drive our commitment in upskilling and future-ready innovation through modern design and engineering solutions.”

“We believe that such initiatives are crucial to nurture and empower the new generation of innovators, across MSMEs, startups and various core industries.”

Deepak NG, Managing Director, Dassault Systemes, said,  “Tamil Nadu is at the helm of the Indian defence corridor and electric vehicle manufacturing ecosystem in the country. We are confident that this partnership will elevate the entire ecosystem in the state by adopting 3D design and engineering technologies and will have a long-lasting impact on these industries.”

“TANCAM is a part of our ongoing endeavors to promote innovation and research and development in the country, under which we have successfully established similar Centers of Excellence in Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. We are excited to join hands with TIDCO to enable and empower the present and future innovators.”
