Genpact appoints former Accenture exec as chief technology and innovation officer
Genpact has named Sanjeev Vohra as its first chief technology and innovation officer, effective immediately. Vohra will report directly to President and CEO Balkrishan “BK” Kalra.
Vohra, who brings over 30 years of technology and consulting experience, is expected to accelerate Genpact’s artificial intelligence (AI) and advanced technology initiatives. His role will involve driving the company’s technology strategy, innovation framework, strategic partnerships, and talent development.
“Vohra brings tremendous AI and advanced technologies expertise to Genpact and an inclusive, people-first leadership style to our team,” said Kalra.
“His visionary thinking will be invaluable as we embed AI and advanced technologies in every client conversation and deepen our internal technology expertise.”
Before joining Genpact, Vohra led Accenture Applied Intelligence, where he significantly expanded the company’s Data and AI business and advised C-suite executives on leveraging data, advanced analytics, and AI for strategic growth. His leadership roles at Accenture were focused on digital transformation and creating new growth opportunities.
“I am excited to lead Genpact’s AI and advanced technology initiatives at such a pivotal moment,” Vohra, an alum of the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, said, adding that Genpact’s deep domain expertise and commitment to scaling technology will enable us to accelerate digital transformation for our clients.
Genpact has earlier said, it has applied AI technologies in its internal processes such as HR, IT, and finance, to streamline operations and improve employee satisfaction. It also used AI in the transformation of vendor management processes and customer connection processes, streamlining the entire invoice and payment tracking system. The company also deployed a large language model-based AI assistant, which has reduced the number of support tickets generated by employees submitting tax documents by 53%, significantly enhancing the employee experience.
In April, Genpact appointed its chief human resources officer (CHRO), Piyush Mehta, as the Country Manager for India. With his expanded responsibilities, he aims to leverage his expertise to further drive the company’s AI-first approach in India, delivering value to key stakeholders while continuing to oversee the global HR function.
