Beetel Launches Magiq II Tablet At Rs 9,799

After launching a budget tablet called Beetel Magiq for just Rs 9,999, Beetel Teletech is at it again and have launched a new version of the original Magiq tablet called Beetel 'Magiq II'. The new tablet is priced a little lower at Rs 9,799 and runs on the Android 2.2 (Froyo) operating system.

The tablet has a 7 inch WVGA touchscreen (800x480 pixels resolution) and is powered by a 768Mhz (down from 1GHz in the original Magiq) Snapdragon processor. It runs on the Android 2.2 OS (similar to Magiq) and the internal memory of the device can be extended up to 16GB with the help of a SD card (the company is currently offering an 8GB SD card free).

There is a 2 mega pixels camera (with CMOS and fixed-focus lens) provided on both the rear and the front of the tablet that comes with 4x digital zoom and can also record videos. On the connectivity front, the device has Bluetooth, Wi-Fi (the device also works as a Wi-Fi hotspot) and 3G, a feature absent in its predecessor.

Additionally, the tablet has a 2200mAh battery which according to the company will provide up to 4 hours of talk time and 60 hours of stand-by time. The dimensions of the device are 209mm x 108mm x 15.5mm and its weight is 500 grams.

Most of the features of the tablet match that of the original Magiq, although 3G has been added to the tablet while FM radio has been removed from it. All in all it is an average tablet but that is okay considering it's under Rs 10,000 price tag.

Like its predecessors, its competitors in the Indian market will include iBall Slide (Rs 13,995), Reliance 3G tab (for Rs 12,999), Mercury's mTab (Rs 9,499) and S Mobility's Mi-720 (Rs 11,990).
