Loading...

Tradus.in, an Indian online shopping site that is a part of ibibo Web Pvt Ltd. has introduced a daily deals section. The new section will have one deal per day on chosen products that users can purchase between 10 am and 4 pm. The company claims that the daily deals section will allow customers to purchase products online with discounts as high as 70 percent.

To purchase a deal, users can click on the deal and follow a few simple steps to purchase the product.

On the payments page, buyers will have to enter a gift voucher code that is displayed next to the deal. The subtotal (original price) on the payment selection page will not change, but a message will be displayed confirming the discount and buyers will be charged only the discounted price.

Buyers have the option of paying using credit card/debit card or net banking. The company also claims that the gift vouchers are limited in number and will be available on first come first basis.

As the first deal, Tradus.in had put a deal of two 8 GB pen drives (one each from SanDisk and Kingston) for Rs 599 while the actual price of the pen drives was Rs 2,069 (really!) and according to the company, more than 2,500 customers bought the deal.

The online deals segment is growing rapidly in India with new players entering the segment almost every day. So basically it was just a matter of time before Tradus.in decided to try its luck in the segment. It is safe to say that the company will leverage its existing base of customers on the main site to promote the deals in the newly launched section.

The other players in the daily deal segment are Snapdeal.com, Mydala.com, Koovs.com, Groupon's Crazeal.com, Via Deals More, Rediff's Deal Ho Jaye and Times Internet's Timesdeal.com among others.
