Airtel Digital TV, the DTH arm of Bharti Airtel, has announced the launch of iExam, an interactive test preparation service on TV. The service will cater to students appearing for various competitive exams and offer coaching modules, mock and practice tests.
Presently, iExam provides content for engineering exams like AIEEE, IIT and various state-level entrance exams under various packages, starting at Rs 49 per week. It has partnered with various coaching centres as well for this initiative, including the Kota-based education service provider Career Point, among others, for content creation. Airtel intends to add content for CAT, Bank PO, and PMT examinations by partnering with suitable content partners in the near future.
"Till date, television has always been an entertainment medium, but with the launch of iExam, it has evolved into a virtual tutor for students. iExam will give students the real-time experience of taking practice tests and compete with fellow students," said Shashi Arora, CEO (DTH & Media) of Bharti Airtel, in a statement.
The service will include several value-added features like rank & percentile, a detailed personalised explanation of scores & information on a student's weak and strong areas, timing skills and accuracy levels, along with feedback and recommendations based on the performance.
The application on which the service works has been developed by digital media technology company Brizz TV which recently raised series A funding from Ojas Ventures Partners. VCCircle was the first to report about the fundraising and plans to collaborate with Bharti Airtel.
