The Indian Tablet market has witnessed the entry of a number of new players in the recent past and lots of them have opted to target the low-price segment with cheap Tablet offerings. The latest to join is Telmoco Development Labs Pvt Ltd, a technology startup company based in Kerala's IT hub Technopark.

The company was founded by Aadith Bose and C R Nijesh and although the ideation process began a year and a half ago, the company was formally launched early this year. It is launching a new Tablet offering called 'Attitude Daksha' (we wonder why would anyone name a Tablet that), sporting a price tag of Rs 5,399. This will be officially launched mid-next month.

The Tablet has a 7 inch WVGA (480x800 pixel resolution) multi-touch capacitive touchscreen display and runs on the Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) operating system. It is powered by a 1.2 GHz ARM Cortex A8 processor (with ARM Mali 400MHz GPU) and has 512MB of RAM. The internal memory of the device is 4GB which can be expanded an additional 32GB with a microSD card.

Attitude Daksha has a 0.3 mega pixel front facing VGA camera for video calling and on the connectivity front; it has Wi-Fi and 3G (through external USB dongle). It also comes with a mini USB port, an HDMI port and a microSD card slot. The Tablet has a 3800mAh battery which the company claims will provide up to 6 hours of battery life (with Wi-Fi).

The dimensions of the device are 195mm x 119mm x 10.1mm and its weight is 300 grams. It will be available in black and white colours.

The Tablet will directly compete with DataWind's Aakash and UbiSlate and Wishtel's IRA (Rs 4,000) and IRA Thing (Rs 5,500), among others (more with Wishtel considering its price). Also, while it costs more than DataWind's offerings and is somewhat equal to Wishtel's offering, it also offers much better (and we mean much better) specifications than all of them.

Considering the specs, it can actually pose a threat to costlier Tablets like HCL ME Tab U1 (Rs 7,999), Zync Z-990 (Rs 8,500), iBerry Auxus AX02 (Rs 9,900), Mercury's mTab (Rs 9,499), Beetel Teletech's Beetel Magiq II (Rs 9,799) and the recently launched Micromax Funbook.

The Tablet is available for pre-order on the company's website and will be first made available (in June, 2012) to the customers who will pre-book it. Later, by the end of this year it will be made available for purchase across the country.
