Snapdeal hires former Bharti Retail exec Aakash Moondhra as CFO

E-commerce firm Jasper Infotech Pvt Ltd, which runs the daily deals and now horizontal e-com site Snapdeal.com, has appointed Aakash Moondhra as its chief financial officer. Moondhra's mandate will involve looking after all aspects of finance and corporate governance.

Till recently, Moondhra was with casual wear retail chain V-Mart Retail as an independent director and the chief investment officer of I-Farm Ventures, an equity investment firm focusing on food and agriculture sector. Kunal Bahl, CEO of Snapdeal, said in a press statement said, "Moondhra's wide experiences as a business operator and investor will be quite valuable for Snapdeal."

Moondhra has over 15 years of diverse experience in banking, corporate finance and M&A, strategy consulting and private equity.  Previously, he has worked with ANZ Grindlays Bank, Accenture, AT&T, Bharti Retail, Infrasoft Technologies, Baring Private Equity Partners and  Nokia in various capacities.

Moondhra has completed his MBA from Southern Methodist University – Cox School of Business, Dallas, US, in finance and strategy, and is a chartered accountant and company secretary from Institute of Company Secretaries of India. He has also completed Advanced Strategic Management course from the University of Michigan and a B Com from Sri Ram College of Commerce.

Talking about his own appointment Moondhra said in a statement, "I feel fortunate to be a part of the dynamic team at Snapdeal. These are extremely exciting times at the organization as we scale up rapidly with tremendous entrepreneurial zeal."
