Yahoo India exec Ashish Chadha quits; To set up mobile video startup

Ashish Chadha, the national sales manager and video head of Yahoo India, has left his job to set up a mobile video startup, according to his LinkedIn update.

He had spent more than three years with Yahoo India which he joined in 2009 as head of audience marketing and went on to lead brand and consumer marketing within eight months. He became the national sales manager and video head in January this year.

This is another high-profile resignation to hit the company within a short period of time. In May this year, Aparna Ballakur, VP (Human Resources) at Yahoo India, resigned from the company to join India's largest online retailer Flipkart as the Chief People Officer (CPO).

Chadha had more than a decade's experience across brand and retail strategy, digital MFD, consumer marketing and leisure travel. Before joining Yahoo, Chadha worked with the India Today Group for over five years as associate publisher and business head, associate publisher (Reader's Digest) and director (marketing – Reader's Digest). Earlier, Chadha had worked with companies like Thomas Cook AG, Siyaram's and Canon.

He obtained a degree in Leadership Development from Harvard Business School and earned a post-graduate diploma in Marketing & Finance from Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies.
