Flora2000 rebrands India operations as separate gifting portal Goldboxx

22 Aug, 2012

Flower gifting firm Flora2000 Gifting & Design Pvt Ltd, an entrepreneurial venture of active angel investor Rehan Yar Khan, has rebranded its Indian portal to Goldboxx. The rebranding was initiated early this year and the firm is now looking to revamp the UI around Diwali.

The firm had been operating two separate sites with a common UI, and The latter was targeted at the domestic Indian market. As per the new strategy, while the flagship portal will continue to operate as a site targeted at international market (largely NRIs or Indian customers looking to send gift abroad), the Indian site has been rebranded.

"We rebranded to Goldboxx as we saw an opportunity to get into gifting as a larger business and not just floral gifting," said Mahima Narula, Business Head – Flora 2000 & Goldboxx.

Currently, both the portals have striking resemblance in look and feel, but it is going to change soon. Currently, Flora2000's Indian visitors are being redirected to Goldboxx and customers landing on Goldboxx can use a tab on the top right corner to go back to Flora2000 if they want to send gifts internationally.

According to Narula, Goldboxx is doing around 15 orders a day currently with 200 visitors coming to the site every day. This means it has a long way to go before it poses any challenge to other such portals.

Narula said as against existing competition like Ferns N Petals, Goldboxx is looking at a different market with a wider selection of products.

Flora2000's founder Rehan Yar Khan, who is a member of Indian Angel Network and an independent angel investor himself, serves in a non executive role at the company. He is a non-executive chairman and not directly involved in the operations, informed Narula.
