TimesJobs.com, a job portal run by Times Business Solutions (an arm of Bennett, Coleman and Co. Ltd), has recently launched an e-community for employees called JobBuzz that helps a jobseeker decide which company, industry and role is right for him/her. On the site, users will find company reviews, ratings, pay scale, interview information and more – posted by members who happen to be current or past employees of those companies.

Product head Avnish Anand said in a statement, "JobBuzz will serve as a platform that attracts the right talent with credible company information and thereby, serves the HR fraternity as an avenue for honest engagement."

The site claims to crowd-source India-centric company information from verified employees and display their reviews anonymously in order to protect their identities, thus ensuring genuine and honest feedback. In addition, ratings presented are weighted aggregates that eliminate bias and give comprehensive and reliable scores.

It provides core information including company reviews, interview processes and questions, salary and remuneration levels across industries and aggregated company rankings based on significant parameters such as work-life balance, learning and development. It also creates industry research based on hard data to fulfill the growing demand for industry-level reports from a neutral platform.

JobBuzz claims to have more than 80,000 reviews up on the site, covering more than 2,000 companies.

"However smart career decisions need more than just employee reviews and ratings. They need the employer's perspectives as well. It is imperative to hear the corporate side of the story – issues raised in reviews need to be clarified, sometimes factual information is required, specific follow-up questions need to be asked and detailed responses given. JobBuzz is designed to enable this sharing of views, ideas and perspective between the corporate houses and employees," signed off Anand.
