Noida-based mobile education and mobile lead generation company Voicetap Technologies has been rechristened Applied Mobile Labs (AML) with immediate effect.
The move is part of a strategy designed to propel the company to the forefront of the mobile education and mobile-based lead generation globally in the next three years.
Mrigank Tripathi, founder and CEO, Applied Mobile Labs, said in a statement, "We have a concrete plan on what has to happen to become a global powerhouse and this change in name is one of the first steps to show that we are committed to becoming a global player."
Established in 2009 by Mrigank Tripathi, an MBA from INSEAD and BE from Nagpur University in Industrial Production Engineering, Tripathi has previously worked with Text 100, Friday Corporation, Mercer Management Consulting and QED Venture Advisors.
The company claims that over the past three years it has invested heavily in technology to develop its own Service Delivery Platform (SDP), which now powers the largest portfolio of mobile-based educational products in the country across Tata DOCOMO and Airtel.
"AML will use every channel to reach the customers across the globe – including mobile operators, direct to consumer through apps, handset / tablet manufacturer relations, retail stores, Web, and even the Enterprise route. The approach will be to create the ecosystem in a manner that allows the company to reuse it for any other product that it launches," Tripathi said.
The company already has tie-ups that ensure a retail presence of over 100,000 stores across India and it intends to add more. Three products are planned to be launched in the next few months across various channels.
Tripathi said, "We are in talks with over seven different operators for global deployments, have held limited pilots of direct-to-consumer products and are launching them in the next few months, besides strengthening our technology platform."
