Nirvana Venture Advisors-backed YourNextLeap.com has transitioned the business model from being an online career counseling site to a jobs site. While the company has pivoted quietly, it has brought itself to competition with established biggies like Naukri, Monster and TimesJobs.

Founded in 2010 by Mohit Gundecha and Suruchi Wagh, YourNextLeap raised an undisclosed sum in Series A funding from Nirvana Venture Advisors, the early-stage venture capital fund of the Patni family last year.

Previously, YourNextleap employed a virtual career counselor which used psychometric evaluations and math models on past admission patterns to give out personalised suggestions. While features like 'University Suggestor' and 'College Suggestor' help students increase their chances of admission, 'Branch Suggestor' assisted them choose suitable study streams.

The website is now positioning itself as the "Smartest way to find jobs in India". YourNextleap counts noted entrepreneur Alok Kejriwal (founder- Games2win) as one of its advisors. "By creating a career profile, job seekers can find the right jobs in the smartest way, and employers the most relevant job seekers. Our automated matching and intelligent filters ensure that the recruitment managers save 90 per cent of time during recruitment and get 60 per cent higher conversions of candidates," states the portal.

The online job search market is seeing heightened action led by big players like Naukri.com and Monster.com and the entry of niche players like OnContract.com, HeadHonchos.com and many more. Professional networking sites like LinkedIn are also upping their game. Is there an opportunity for another player to come in? Let's wait and watch.
