Jagran Prakashan's digital revenues climb 15.46% to Rs 2.24Cr in Q2

Jagran Prakashan Ltd, publishers of the Hindi daily Dainik Jagran, has posted Rs 2.24 crore as digital business revenue (excluding advertising) for the quarter ended September 30, 2012, up 15.46 per cent from Rs 1.94 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.

The company's digital presence includes the news portals Jagran.com, Jagranjosh.com and JagranPost.Com (the English version ofJagran.com), classified portal Khojle.in, mobile version of Jagran.com (for iOS) and the gaming portal Jeetle.com. Its mobile offerings also include Jagran's mobile site (m.Jagran.com) and IVR (interactive voice response)/AVR (automated voice response)/SMS through its short code service 57272.

The company also claims to have reached 8 million unique users across all its digital properties in Q2. This means it has added some 0.5 million users in the last quarter, compared to 7.5 million users at the end of Q1 (more on that here).

According to the web analytics company comScore, the group is ranked at No. 45 across all internet properties in India and for news and education categories, it is ranked at No. 6 and No. 3, respectively. For Q2 FY13, the overall operational revenues reported by the company stood at Rs 322.10 crore, up 5.47 per cent from Rs 305.41 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. Advertising revenues were pegged at Rs 219.59 crore, up 3.64 per cent over the year-ago period, and circulation revenues at Rs 66.63 crore, up 10.04 per cent as compared to last year's Rs 61.20 crore. Event and outdoor revenues stood at Rs 26.22 crore as against Rs 22.64 crore in the same period last year.
