E-commerce in India is entering the next phase and the leaders in each vertical can be identified now, at least to a certain extent. The industry has witnessed rapid growth over the past 2-3 years, with some of the top players disrupting the existing retail framework and getting Indian consumers to shop online.
While the mega opportunities are here to stay, concerns remain over the sustainability of e-commerce businesses in general and how contributing margins for most of the models can fund sustainable business expansion.
With the objective to discuss these issues and explore other relevant areas, Techcircle E-Commerce Forum will be held on Feb 27 at the Taj President, Mumbai. The event will bring together India's top e-commerce entrepreneurs, private equity and venture capital investors, advisors, investment bankers and other key ecosystem players.
The summit will also delve deep into topics such as the changing consumer behaviour and buying patterns; marketplace versus inventory-led models; e-commerce segments that will drive growth in the next three years; social, local and mobile usage for better market penetration; the next phase of customer acquisition in India; fundraising challenges; investor views; trends in consolidation and M&A; vertical versus horizontal e-commerce; playing the vertical e-commerce game; evaluating the ecosystem gaps in COD, logistics, payments and more.
