Screen Shot 2013-04-23 at 6.17.52 PMS Mobility has expanded its Stellar Pinnacle series of handsets by launching the Stellar Pinnacle Pro smartphone in the Indian market. The new smartphone is powered by a quad-core processor (a first for the company) and runs on the Android operating system. Here is a look at the specifications of the device.

The Stellar Pinnacle Pro Mi-535 comes with a 5.3 inch IPS LCS capacitive touchscreen display (960x540 pixel resolution) and runs on the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS. It is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor (unlike its predecessor Stellar Pinnacle Mi-530 that had a dual-core processor) and has 1 GB of RAM. The internal memory of the device is 16GB, which can be further expanded up to 32GB with the help of a microSD card.

The smartphone has an 8 mega pixel autofocus rear camera with dual-LED Flash that can record high definition videos (720p) and a 5MP wide-angle front-facing camera, which is pretty decent for a smartphone. The camera also features smile shot, panorama mode, and continuous shots, etc. On the connectivity front, the device has Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi (with Wi-Fi hotspot), 3G, as well as a microSD card slot.

The device has a 2,550 mAh battery and comes with GPS (with A-GPS support). The smartphone measures 152mm x 79mm x 10.3mm and weighs 196.3 grams. Similar to Stellar Pinnacle, this one also supports dual-SIM (3G+3G). The company has taken cue from Samsung (which has been launching a number of interesting features in its Galaxy range of smartphones) and added a few additional features like pop-up play, flip to mute, direct call, gesture screen lock, and power saving mode, among others.

All in all, it's a pretty decent smartphone considering the under Rs 15,000 price range in which it is available. In the same range, the smartphone will compete with smartphones like Intel XOLO A1000 (Rs 13,229) and XOLO X900 (Rs 12,839), Sony Xperia U (Rs 13,990), HTC One V (Rs 13,949), LG Optimus L7II Dual (Rs 14,990) and Micromax A116 Canvas HD (Rs 15,099), among others. Although only Micromax's offering has a quad-core processor similar to the Stellar Pinnacle Pro. So if you want to try out a quad-core Android device without it burning a hole in your pocket, you can definitely give this (or the Micromax handset) one a try.
