PayUPaisa waives transaction charges for merchants

Gurgaon-based online payment solution firm PayU India Internet Pvt Ltd has waived transaction charges levied on merchants for transactions till September 30, 2013, as part of a 'promotional offer'.

As per the new 'zero transaction charges' offer, merchants don't need to pay any transaction discount rate to PayUPaisa. The offer is applicable to all transactions carried out from July 1 this year. All existing merchants have been automatically upgraded to this offer, the company said in a statement. payupaisa "This will encourage more sellers to take the online route and help in further adoption of online payment. This would further assist us in transforming the online payment space," said Nitin Gupta, co-founder and CEO, PayU India.

Started in 2011, PayU India is part of PayU Group, a South Africa-based multinational group of media and ecommerce platforms. PayU empowers buyers to pay and sellers to get paid online. It also allows any individual or a business to go online in a few minutes and start collecting online payments with the help of online documentation. The firm claims that it serves more than 4,000 merchants, including Goibibo, Rechargeitnow, Jabong, Snapdeal, Bookmyshow, Ferns n Petals, Tradus, Travelyaari and Zomato Groupon India.

In December last year, the firm launched its own interactive voice response (IVR) payment facility, which enables enterprises to accept payments from customers via telephone.
