HTC launches dual SIM Desire 600 in India, available for Rs 25,581
Just last week HTC had unveiled a compact version of its flagship device HTC One called HTC One mini. The company has now extended its Desire range of smartphones by launching Desire 600 in the Indian market. The device runs on the Android operating system and has been priced at Rs 25,581. Here is a look at the specifications of the device.
The smartphone sports a 4.5 inch Super LCD2 qHD capacitive touchscreen display (540 x 960 pixels resolution) with 245 ppi pixel density. The smartphone is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor and runs on the Android 4.1.2 with HTC Sense 5 user interface. It has 1GB of RAM and comes with 8GB of internal memory that can be expanded up to 64GB with a microSD card.
Desire 600 has an 8 megapixel autofocus rear camera with LED Flash (with BSI sensor) that can record high definition videos (720p) at 30 frames per second, and a 1.6MP front-facing camera for video calling. The camera also comes with slow motion video recording, VideoPic (allows to click pictures while taking videos) and five levels of flash that is selected automatically according to the distance to subject. It also has a 'Video Highlights' feature that automatically creates visually appealing 30-second slide shows that users can share on social networking sites.
On the connectivity front, the device has Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, and 3G, and comes with a microUSB port and a microSD card slot. The dimensions of the device are 134.8mm x 67mm x 9.26 mm and its weight is 130 gm. The company has provided a 1,860 mAh battery that it claims will provide over 11 hours of talk time and 577 hours of stand by time. It comes with A-GPS support, Near Field Communication (NFC) and will be available in black and white colours.
The smartphone features BoomSound- features dual frontal stereo speakers that deliver less distortion and finer sound detail; and HTC BlinkFeed- delivers social updates, news updates and photos directly to the smartphones home screen. The device has dual SIM capability with 'dual active' system, which allows users to receive a call on one line, even if they are already using the other.
At the price at which it is being offered, the smartphone will compete with the likes of Google Nexus 4 (Rs 25,890), Samsung Galaxy S3 (Rs 27,500), Sony Xperia ZR (Rs 29,450), Galaxy S4 Zoom (Rs 29,390), and the Galaxy S4 mini (Rs 27,200).
