Mindshare, a marketing and media agency of GroupM, a media investment management group, has appointed Vinod Thadani as its chief digital officer (CDO) for South Asia, according to a The Hindu Business Line report. In his new role, Thadani will be responsible for managing Mindshare's full service digital offerings for its existing clients as well as for bringing in new business.
"Thadani has always managed to stay ahead of the curve with his in-depth knowledge and continuous innovation. We are glad to have him on board and are confident he will take Mindshare to greater avenues," said Ravi Rao, leader, South Asia at Mindshare.
Thadani comes with over 15 years of experience and had earlier (in 2008) set up the mobile practice at GroupM. Prior to Mindshare, he was the chief executive officer (CEO) at Madhouse India, a joint venture between WPP and Madhouse China set up in 2012. A University of Mumbai alumnus, Thadani is also a member of the Mobile Marketing Association (MMA).
On his appointment, Thadani said, "With the eminent growth of over 40 per cent in digital advertising, the future of marketing lies in seamless integration of core traditional media with digital and mobile media. Mindshare boasts of an impressive client roster with some of the biggest brands in the world, and I look forward to working with each of them and the team on their digital mandates."
Mindshare's services include business planning (combining data & analytics, insights and strategy), invention, the exchange (determines the structure of the media solution and refines budget allocation across paid, owned and earned channels), digital manifesto and search. The company's clientele includes big names like Nike, IBM, Ford, Castrol, American Express, Nestle and Rolex, among others. In India, it has headquarters in Mumbai with offices in Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata and Bangalore.
In March 2013, the agency had appointed Siddharth Sethi as the head of digital business at Mindshare India.
