Motorola launches Moto Turbo with 4G LTE, 21MP shooter & more for Rs 41,999 in India

Moto TurboMotorola has further expanded its range of smartphones in the country with the launch of a new device. Christened Moto Turbo, the smartphone is basically a variant of Moto Maxx, which was unveiled in November last year. The smartphone is available for pre-order exclusively on Indian e-commerce major Flipkart.com for Rs 41,999 in India.

Here is a look at the specifications of the device.

The smartphone sports a 5.2 inch Quad HD AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display (2560×1440 pixels resolution) with 565 ppi pixel density and runs on the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system (out of the box). It is powered by a 2.7 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 QSC 8084 processor and has 3GB of RAM. The internal memory of the device is 64GB, but further memory expansion is not available (not that it's required in the first place).

Moto Turbo has a 21 mega pixel autofocus rear camera with dual LED Flash that supports 4K Ultra HD video recording as well as full HD (1080p) video recording at 30 frames per second. In addition, it has a 2 MP front-facing camera that can also record full HD videos. Additional features of the camera include geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, panorama, and High Dynamic Range (HDR), among others.

On the connectivity front, the device has Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, 3G, 4G LTE, and a micro USB port. The smartphone has a mammoth 3,900 mAh battery and comes with GPS (with A-GPS support) as well as Near Field Communication (NFC). According to the company, the device's battery will provide up to 48 hours of mixed usage, while the Motorola Turbo Charger can give users an 8 additional hours of power with just 15 minutes of charging.

The dimensions of the device are 143.5mm x 73.3mm x 8.3mm and its weight is 166 gm. It is currently available only in black colour. Users can also interact with the Moto Turbo using their voice or simple gestures. You can ask questions and perform tasks by speaking to it, or respond to it using simple gestures. Similar to the Moto Maxx, the smartphone features a rear cover which is made of metalized glass fiber, and a water-repellent nano-coating protects the Moto Turbo from accidental water spills or an unexpected drizzle.

The other smartphones available from Motorola in the country include Moto E (Rs 5,999), Moto G 2nd Gen (Rs 12,999), Moto X 2nd Gen (starting at Rs 29,999), and Nexus 6 (starting at Rs 43,999).

In addition, last month, Motorola had unveiled the successor to Moto E, its budget smartphone offering. Called Moto E (2nd Gen), the device sports a slightly bigger 4.5 inch display, twice the internal storage, and runs on the latest, unadulterated version of Android. In addition to the 3G variant of the smartphone, the company has also added a 4G LTE model to the mix, which will be available only in select markets.
