Post pivot, personal assistant app Helpchat gets TaxiForSure's Deena Jacob as CFO

Personal assistant app Helpchat, which is run by Coraza Technologies Pvt Ltd, has appointed TaxiForSure's finance head Deena Jacob as chief financial officer.

The company recently pivoted to become a chat-based personal assistant app and rebranded itself as Helpchat from, which used to be an online customer feedback platform.

Ankur Singla, Founder and CEO, Helpchat said: "Adding Deena to the executive leadership team as chief financial officer is sure to set the company ahead to deliver the future of messaging. Her experience at TFS, especially running a multi-city 80 people finance team, would come in handy for Helpchat."

Deena is a chartered accountant with over 14 years of industry experience. In her previous avatar, Deena was the finance head of cabs aggregator TaxiForSure, a position she held till April 2015. Larger rival Ola had acquired TaxiForSure in March.

The erstwhile Akosha was founded in 2010 by Singla, who was joined by Avinash Vankadaru (in operations) and Vishal Pal Chaudhary (in technology). Akosha was started as an online platform that connects consumers and brands for customer service and feedback. It used to provide users with information on pricing, discounts, customer service, booking appointments, travel research and so on.

Last month, Akosha was shut down and Helpchat was born.

"We started as a complaints platform, but as more people started using our service, the nature of queries changed and we realised that people were seeking all kinds of help," Singla had told then.

Hepchat offers information and services across categories such as mobile and DTH recharge, tech support, travel booking, holiday guidance, grocery, food, shopping, deals, coupons, laundry, movie tickets and others.
