Ganesh Subramanian, former chief operating officer at fashion e-tailer Myntra, has started a new venture called Stylumia Intelligence Technology Pvt Ltd that would track and analyse fashion trends.

Stylumia is a tech venture that would provide insights from mined data to help fashion and lifestyle brands as well as retailers make better decisions to cater to customers. The Bangalore-based company was started in October, according to Subramanian's LinkedIn profile.

Subramanian, who joined Myntra in 2012, quit the company in October. He had worked as chief merchandising officer and chief operating officer before being appointed as the head of new initiatives in January this year.

He had previously worked with Walmart, Reliance Trends, Tommy Hilfiger, Arvind Brands and Indus League Clothing. Stylumia plans to launch the first version of its product by early 2016, The Economic Times reported on Thursday.

"Fashion brands currently predict designs for the next season collection on their gut feeling or follow other brands, as there is no comprehensive data available on consumer shopping behaviour and future trends," Subramanian told the publication.

The company is headed by Subramanian and entrepreneur Ram Prakash H, an IIT alumnus who had previously founded artificial intelligence and machine learning-based startup called Cognirel Technologies.

Myntra, owned by Flipkart, had announced a top management rejig in July where it named former McKinsey India director Ananth Narayanan as CEO after the company's co-founder Mukesh Bansal became board chairman.
