The latest Silicon Valley hire to give up on Indian startups, Anand Chandrasekaran had joined Snapdeal as chief product officer in June 2015. Chandrasekaran had returned to India in 2014 to join Bharti Airtel as chief product officer after spending three years at Yahoo in California. A year later he had moved to Snapdeal. Prior to Yahoo, he was director of product at US-based software solutions firm Openwave. He had earlier co-founded Aeroprise, said to be the world's most widely deployed mobility solution for IT service management. During his stint at Snapdeal, he was also an active angel investor, backing gaming app Gamezop, online marketplace RentOnGo, hyperlocal healthcare products delivery startup Pluss, freight platform FreightTiger and HD-live streaming platform Instalively, among others. Chandrasekaran now plans to turn entrepreneur.
