Nokia elevates Sanjay Malik as head of India market

Nokia has elevated Sanjay Malik to the post of head of the India market while promoting current India head Sandeep Girotra as head of Asia-Pacific and Japan market.

In his new role, Malik will lead customer operations, drive business growth strategy and customer engagement services, effective from August 1, 2016. He will be based in Gurgaon, according to a company statement.

Malik, who joined Nokia in 2000, is currently the vice president and head of global network implementation services, which is a part of the company's global services business.

Prior to joining Nokia, Malik was heading Bharti GCBT (Global CBT), where he was responsible for the primary P&L of Bharti's global business across India and Africa.

Girotra had joined Nokia in 1996 and is currently overseeing the company's customer operations across India, strategy execution and customer service.

Last month, the company had appointed Jaideep Minocha as head of Bharti Airtel global account.
