Career counselling and education services firm Careers360 has launched an online recruitment platform for teachers called Faculty360.com, the company’s top official told TechCircle.

Faculty360.com is only for teachers willing to work with higher-education institutions at present. With almost 600 specialisations listed, it aims to match teachers with their areas of expertise. The option for recruiting school teachers will be added later.

The launch took place in the presence of Union human resources development minister Prakash Javadekar. The move comes after the firm’s foray into online coaching last month.

“Our objective is to aid institutional expansion and growth,” said Maheshwer Peri, founder and chairman of Pathfinder India Pvt. Ltd, which runs New Delhi-based Careers360.

In another year, the company aims to have about more than 250 institutions seeking teachers from the website.

The company is creating new revenue streams and adding more business verticals to bolster its profitability and reach out to a wider audience. In an interview to TechCircle, Peri had said the firm wants to be in every space where a student aspirant in the age group of 16-24 years is sitting. For students, the firm has a few research-based products ranging between Rs 499 and Rs 999.

Although advertising accounts for a lion’s share of the firm’s revenue, the company expects new verticals to open fresh streams of revenue. In May 2016, the firm had launched a new vertical called Study Abroad. Through this, the firm is creating a pool of students who want to study abroad. To open up another stream of revenue, the firm had bought Nopaperforms in 2015, a Mumbai-based online enrolment startup.

Founded in 2008 by Maheshwer Peri and Rajesh Jain, Careers360 is operated by Pathfinder India Pvt. Ltd. It caters to students looking to pursue education in engineering, management, medicine and law streams.

Careers360 counts as its investors Ranjan Pai, chief executive and managing director, Manipal Education and Medical Group; venture capitalist Mahesh Murthy; and Satya Narayanan R, founder of education firm Career Launcher.

In June 2017, the company roped in Paytm chief executive Vijay Shekhar Sharma, Matrimony.com founder Murugavel Janakiraman, Ashoka University founder Pramath Raj Sinha and Prism Cement managing director Vijay Aggarwal and others to its newly-formed advisory board.

In January 2016, it sold around 10% stake to education assessment firm MeritTrac for an undisclosed amount

Most recently, Careers360, which bought Mumbai Angels-backed enrolment management platform NoPaperForms in December 2015,  sold the venture to its chief strategy officer Naveen Goyal, for about $3 million.
