Indian information technology (IT) outsourcing services provider Mphasis Ltd has roped in Tech Mahindra’s Ravi Vasantraj to head its global business process services (BPS), including the digital risk portfolio. In this role, he will be responsible for strategy, business development, account management and transformation of BPS operations, with a special focus on enterprise automation-led services.

Vasantraj will join Mphasis as senior vice-president and member of the firm’s executive council. He was previously at Tech Mahindra as the global head of banking, financial services and insurance (BFSI).

Vasantraj comes to Mphasis with over 27 years of global experience in technology and operations for BFSI industries. At Tech Mahindra, Vasantraj was responsible for strategy (organic and inorganic) and innovation across the BFSI vertical. He has also held leadership positions at India's top IT services exporter Tata Consultancy Services and Michigan-based IT services provider Syntel Inc.

BPS currently accounts for 20% of Mphasis’ revenues, with over 6,000 employees in the vertical. Mphasis started BPS 20 years ago. Its current BPS market consists of clients in the banking, capital markets, insurance, healthcare, travel and other industries.
