Watch: Cost, revenue, customer experience cornerstone of retail solutions: Hemanth Sheelvant, Bosch

About three years ago, Robert Bosch Engineering and Business Solutions started working with food retail chain Spar India to take the latter’s digital transformation game forward in the country. Bosch’s trump card was Iero, a platform that can be customized for specific needs in the areas of retail, hospitality, automotives, offices and homes.

SPAR India, a partnership between Dutch multinational SPAR and Dubai-based Max Hypermarket, currently runs 24 stores in the country.

‘We can figure out individuals who might like ice-cream in cold weather and can provide in-store recommendations for the same, “ said Hemant Sheelvant, Business Head- AI Personalization Technologies (IERO), Robert Bosch Engineering & Business Solutions, as an illustration of how accurate and personalized retail could become in the future.

In an interview with TechCircle, Sheelvant spoke about what went into SPAR’s transformation and how emerging technologies such as data analytics, AR and artificial intelligence (AI) are being used to drive hyper customised solutions for the end customer.
