Supply chain software firm Manhattan Associates has opened a new office in Bengaluru. 

The company will hire up to 200 employees during this fiscal year, it said in a statement.

The Atlanta, US-based firm has over 1,400 employees in India and the country's development centre houses close to 60% of the research and development workforce for the company.

Manhattan Associates’ overall headcount is around 3,400 and it reported revenue of around $560 million in the last calendar year.

Founded in 1990 by Alan Dabbiere along with Indian origin entrepreneurs Deepak Raghavan, Prahlad Suresh, Ponnambalam Muthiah and Deepak M.J. Rao, the firm established the India office in 2002.

"Our new office is designed to promote agility, openness and collaboration. It will provide a fertile and creative environment for developing the industry’s preeminent supply chain and omnichannel commerce solutions,” said Ushasri Tirumala, senior vice president and general manager of India, Manhattan Associates.

The company provides information across the enterprise, converging front-end sales with back-end supply chain execution over the cloud as well as on-premise infrastructure. According to the company, its platform provides enterprises with real-time information for facilitating an omnichannel retail strategy.

Manhattan has around 20 key products and the company claims it is constantly innovating to build on new tech capabilities on a continuous basis as the retail landscape evolves rapidly.

According to the company, it nets over 60% revenue from the retail business. Its largest customer base is in the US (80%)  followed by Europe and Asia-Pacific.
