MakeMyTrip to offer TripAdvisor’s global experiences to Indian travellers

Gurgaon-based online travel company MakeMyTrip (MMT) has entered into a partnership with US-based travel site TripAdvisor to integrate international experiences that Indian travellers can book across 100 overseas markets.

MMT aims to maximise its reach to the 25 million Indian travellers going overseas, and help enhance their overall journey with a wide selection of in-destination experiences, it said in a statement. 

Indian travellers will have over 250,000 bookable tours and activities from TripAdvisor to choose from when they visit MakeMyTrip’s experiences and activities section.

The feature is currently running on the mobile app and allows consumers to have greater flexibility and price transparency when making travel decisions across a wide range of activities that include sightseeing, food tours, day trips and other local experiences.

“Our data shows that there has been a consistent increase in the number of outbound Indian travellers who are willing to spend more on new and differentiated local experiences. With the rollout of international experiences with TripAdvisor on our platform, we are confident that we can now empower Indian travellers with more choices when they travel overseas which they book online,” said Deepak Tuli, chief business officer- new business, MakeMyTrip India.
