From fintech to agritech, meet the startups in Cultiv8’s sixth cohort

Coimbatore-based startup incubator Cultiv8 has announced the sixth cohort, which includes a selection of companies that run across sectors such as financial services, agriculture and healthcare.

In a bid to solve India-specific problems, the handpicked startups will engage in a six-month programme to focus on aspects of idea validation, develop their MVP (minimum viable product) and chart their growth ahead.

With 40 mentors on board and over 10 investment networks, Cultiv8 will mentor the startups and provide additional support in terms of compliance, financial modelling, legal, public relations and importantly, fundraising.

Cultiv8, set up in 2016, is the technology-based incubator of CIET (Coimbatore Institute of Engineering and Technology) powered by the Indian government’s department of science and technology. It supports technology startups across domains, with a special focus on IoT (Internet of Things). Having worked with 45 startups in past three years, it has helped those startups raise over $8 million.

Erth.ai: Founded by IIT Roorkee graduates, Abhijeet Mittal and Jitesh Arora, the Bengaluru-based startup is developing a pocket size AI (artificial intelligence) device that analyses milk health.

Intelisa: Founded by former marketing and product development executives, Alok Dukle and Rahul Shukla, the Mumbai-based brand communication, display advertising startup runs an IoT based platform that helps efficiently control, monitor and measure communication.

Investoasia: Founded by an electronics and communication engineering graduate Smriti Tomar, the Gurugram-based startup is a personal finance lifestyle platform with an aim to democratise access to global financial system for retail users using the power of AI and blockchain.

Maya Greens: Founded by homeward bound Arul Kumaraswamy, formerly an automations and operations developer at a housing finance company in the US, this agri-tech startup focuses on smart farming and IoT based farm automation.

Pickyto: Founded by a former Amazon techie manager, Bharathi Masilamani, this startup runs a restaurant management software that enables express ordering for customers.

Svarasa: Founded by Micky Sujan, the Bengaluru-based startup offers a range of Indian linen office wear for women online. Sujan comes with a background of working closely with weavers, artisans and designs the range herself.

Vitor Healthsciences: Founded by Milind Naik, Dr Tarun and Vikram Rai, the start-up runs a health assistance platform helping people check their health risks, understand them and receive inputs to act on them.
