Bengaluru-based ANI Technologies, which owns and operates ride hailing company Ola, has roped in Sanjiv Saddy as senior VP, corporate affairs.
In his new role, Saddy will be responsible for building deep relationships with key authorities, government agencies, and other related stakeholders, Bhavish Aggarwal, co-founder and CEO, Ola, said.
“Consequently, all our regional corporate affairs and law enforcement leads will report to him,” added Aggarwal.
Saddy has over 35 years of experience in corporate affairs and government relations, business development and finance.
Prior to Ola, Saddy worked with Flipkart and led its government relations and corporate affairs mandate.
He has also worked with companies like Tata Communications, Emaar MGF Land and Freightwinds and Travels, among others.
“Ola has emerged as one of India’s most impactful homegrown companies from the last decade and at a very important phase as it expands globally and into newer businesses. I’m very excited to join Ola in their mission of building mobility for a billion people,” Saddy said.
Earlier this month, Ola had roped in Rajeev Bakshi as an advisory member to the board of its food business Ola Foods. The company also plans to go public by 2021.
The platform is also looking into standardising its driver commissions and remove an incentive-driven model to help the drivers benefit with their earnings.
Last year in December, it planned to trim 20% of its workforce to lower costs ahead of filing for a public listing in the next few years. The Bengaluru headquartered company has about 5,000 employees and this move is likely to impact the job status of over 1,000 employees.
