Non-profit GiveIndia has merged online donation platform Small Change with itself. All the 63 non-profits supported by Small Change will be absorbed by GiveIndia.

Founded by former journalist Sara Adhikari in 2016, Small Change employs a storytelling approach to raise awareness and funds for Indian non-profits from individual donors.

“GiveIndia being the largest giving platform has made and continues to make a deep impact in this regard through their online giving options and corporate and platform partnerships. We believe that being part of GiveIndia will help Small Change channelize our strengths to drive this impact,” Adhikari Small Change said in a statement.

GiveIndia has participated in several cause-marketing initiatives with digital companies such as Flipkart, Ola, Cred, PhonePe, BigBasket, EaseMyTrip and claims to support over 1,000 non-profits in the country. It claims to have helped to raise contributions of over Rs 300 crore for over 200 vetted non-profits from a million donors across 23 states in India, according to its website.

“It is very heartening to find that there is an increased interest in giving and is further bolstered by the ease in digital payments. It is an exciting time for Small Change to join GiveIndia and our mission to alleviate poverty by enabling giving at scale,” Atul Satija, CEO of GiveIndia said.

In May 2018, crowdfunding platform LetzChange also merged with GiveIndia, the combined entity widening the choice of causes, non-profit projects and geographies for donors.
