Lowe’s India, the Bengaluru-based retail technology and analytics centre for Lowe’s Companies, has appointed Mayur Purandar as the vice president of enterprise architecture.

Purandar will lead the technology strategy and architecture, platform engineering, and technical standards and governance segments across Lowe’s retail applications portfolio, the company said in a statement.

Purandar has over 19 years of retail and ecommerce experience, focused on engineering, data science and operations.

Prior to the current role, he served as the senior director of enterprise, price and promotions at Minneapolis, Minnesota-based retail company Target. He has also worked in Amazon, Walmart and IBM. 

Founded in 1946, Lowe’s is based in Mooresville, North Carolina, and operates in the US and Canada. 

Lowe’s India was set up in 2014 and is the retail technology and analytics centre for Lowe’s Companies. It has over 2,000 employees and focuses on technology, analytics and shared services.

The company’s technology teams support ecommerce, mobile, infrastructure and corporate systems that enable functions such as supply chain, distribution and corporate services, whereas the analytics teams enable in making data-driven decisions in merchandising, store operations, finance and supply chain. 

Last year in May, New York Stock Exchange-listed home improvement company Lowe’s Companies had acquired the retail analytics platform of Boomerang Commerce to bolster its technological capabilities.
