A trader group has sought the renewal of the antitrust investigation into ecommerce companies Amazon and Walmart-owned Flipkart, according to a report on Reuters, which cited a court filing. The appeal by the Delhi Vyapar Mahasangh is likely to be heard in April, the report said. In January, the Competition Commission of India (CCI) had ordered an investigation into alleged violations of the Competition Act, 2002, by the ecommerce companies. However, the probe was put on hold after the Karnataka High Court granted a stay order on the investigation. It may be noted that last month, the CCI was expected to initiate a fresh probe against Flipkart, following an appeal by the All India Online Vendors Association.
