Bengaluru-based information technology (IT) services firm Mindtree has appointed former Cognizant and HCL veteran Venu Lambu as its president of global markets.

This is the third big hire at the company since March when former Accenture executive Dayapatra Nevatia took charge as COO of Mindtree. His appointment came eight months after former co-founder and COO Parthasarathy NS vacated the post.

In mid-June, former KPIT executive Vinit Teredesai was appointed as Mindtree’s chief financial officer. Teredesai took over the post from interim CFO Senthil Kumar, who was appointed in March, after Pradip Menon quit the company.

As the president of global markets, Lambu will formulate strategic direction and business development for Mindtree businesses across all industry segments. He will be based in London, according to a statement.

“Venu [Lambu] has the ideal combination of leadership acumen, energy, and experience to help drive our aggressive plans to further scale the business,” Debashis Chatterjee, chief executive officer and managing director of Mindtree said.

Lambu, who previously had a short eight-month stint at Larsen & Toubro as the president of its global markets, is a Cognizant veteran. He has held positions such as senior vice president and global markets head: technology services as well as the global head of Cognizant infrastructure and cloud services between 2013 and 2019.
