Mumbai-based pharmaceutical company IPCA Laboratories has chosen Paris headquartered 3D and engineering solutions provider Dassault Systèmes to eliminate data silos and paper processes, reduce review time and errors, and improve compliance.

IPCA will utilise Dassault Systèmes One Lab solution for its research, development and analytical needs, and to support its end-to-end processes, a statement said. One Lab provides a uniform understanding and usage of laboratory equipment, materials and procedure steps, along with a unified role-based user experience for the lab.

The deployment is expected to help IPCA add value to its business, gain on-demand availability of historical data for audits and access real-time data for decision making, it said.

“One Lab industry solution experience has helped IPCA Laboratories… enhance compliance with regulatory guidelines and improve productivity up to 60% with reduced costs,” Deepak NG, managing director for India at Dassault Systèmes, said.

As pharmaceuticals today look for procedure execution with data and metadata capture, there’s a need for a data review dashboard to aid with increased process efficiency while looking into compliance issues for standard operating procedures, the statement said.

With contactless manufacturing evolving as the new norm, these goals can be achieved by removing paper-based and disconnected systems, which can hinder data and technology transfer between research, development and manufacturing, it said.

“One Lab provides a complete electronic solution for digitalization of R&D and manufacturing QC labs in a unified way, eliminating data silos,” Ashok Nayak, CIO of IPCA, said.
