Global payments firm Visa and funding marketplace IFundWomen on Monday announced the launch of a grant programme to support women entrepreneurs in India. Applicants from any sector can submit details about their business on the IFundWomen website till October 20, a statement said, adding that three winners will each receive a Rs 7,00,000 grant. Visa has partnered with FLO, the women’s wing of FICCI, and Instamojo as the digitisation partners for the programme in the country. 

OYO appoints industry veteran Patil as senior legal advisor  

Hospitality major OYO on Monday said that it has appointed Tejal Patil as the senior legal advisor for India and South Asia, effective Monday. Patil will be responsible for leading OYO’s legal functions in the region and steer its strategic initiatives, a statement said. The industry veteran, with over 27 years of experience, will report to India and South Asia CEO Rohit Kapoor and work with global general counsel Rakesh Prusti, it said. She served at General Electric for 19 years, and is also a solicitor at the Bombay Incorporated Law Society and the Law Society of England and Wales. 

Mi India rolls out ‘mobile’ retail store 

Smartphone brand Mi India on Monday announced the launch of a 'mobile' retail store, dubbed Mi Store on Wheels (MSoW). The store will operate out of a van and travel across towns to ensure presence in all major markets and weekly haats, a statement said. Aimed at “changing the dynamics of the retail business in rural markets”, the concept will be piloted in Chhattisgarh, it said.
