Commerce and industry minister Piyush Goyal on Tuesday invited startups to register on the public procurement portal GeM to offer services to government departments and “a large number of customers”. Goyal was speaking at the National Startup Awards 2020, which also saw the launch of online discovery platform Startup India Showcase and DPIIT-backed Blockchain-based Certificate Verification System.

NetApp makes two hires to strengthen India team

Sunnyvale, California headquartered cloud data services provider NetApp on Wednesday said it appointed two new executives to strengthen its India leadership team -- Ganesan Arumugam as director of channels and Siddharth Nalawade as enterprise head of NetApp India and SAARC region. The senior-level executives will be instrumental in driving the company’s go-to-market vision to align with its cloud strategy, a statement said. Arumugam joins NetApp after over 29 years of experience in organisations such as Symantec, VMWare and Hitachi Data Systems, while Nalawade has 17 years of experience working in companies such as Dell EMC.

Zypp appoints Budhiraja as vice president of growth

Shared electric mobility startup Zypp, earlier known as Mobycy, on Wednesday said it has appointed a new vice president of growth to drive its last mile delivery business. Himanshu Budhiraja joins the company after over 12 years of leadership experience across firms such as Samsung, Airtel and Rivigo, Zypp said. He will be responsible for optimising sales and formulating strategies to expedite the growth of the company in the last mile delivery focus, Zypp added.
