Information technology (IT) services company Wipro on Tuesday said that it has secured a five-year contract to provide software engineering services for Sunnyvale, California-based technology company ThoughtSpot.

As part of the agreement, the Bengaluru-based firm is expected to improve various components of ThoughtSpot’s search and analytics platform, and help the company scale its feature development efforts.

“We look forward to accelerating their (ThoughtSpot's) ability to innovate at scale,” Harmeet Chauhan, senior vice president of industrial and engineering services at Wipro, said. “This partnership is aligned with our continued efforts to enhance our artificial intelligence and cloud ecosystem, and build our growing footprint in the US.”

The analytics platform is ThoughtSpot’s USP. It uses artificial intelligence to help the company’s customers explore, analyse and share real-time business analytics data. Put simply, the platform and the products built around it provide useful data-driven business insights, which help customers with decision making.

Wipro said it will leverage its EngineeringNXT framework and Product POD, a cross-functional, self-organising and high performing product engineering team, to deliver the required software services to ThoughtSpot and help the company realise its product visions quickly and safely.

This, it said, will ultimately help the technology company expedite the launch of new releases for customers and maintain its competitive advantage.

Currently, ThoughtSpot’s customer-base includes giants such as Walmart, BT, Daimler, Medtronic, Hulu, Royal Bank of Canada, Bank of the West, Siemens and Nationwide Building Society.

Sumeet Arora, senior vice president and head of engineering at ThoughtSpot, said, “By partnering with Wipro, we will be able to tap into high value product engineering capabilities and expertise as we scale, and continue to equip our customers with industry-leading solutions at the cutting edge of innovation.”
