Rajeev Kumar Mehta, an IT (information technology) industry veteran with over three decades of experience, is set to take over the position of non-executive chairman at Hexaware Technologies.
He is currently on the board of the company and is being elevated to the new position, the Mumbai-headquartered IT and consulting services firm said in a statement.
Mehta has worked at Cognizant where he spent over 22 years and led as president, group CEO – IT services, group CEO – industries and markets, and chief operating officer. Prior to that, he had worked at General Electric Information Systems, Deloitte and Touche, and Anderson Consulting.
Along with his appointment, Hexaware also announced that the company’s founder Atul Nishar will step down from the position of chairman and continue as chairman emeritus. The statement did not reveal the time frame for these changes.
The top deck shuffle at Hexaware comes months after the company delisted from NSE and BSE and went private under the ownership of Baring Private Equity Asia. Its shares stopped trading on the bourses in November.
