French multinational technology company Atos on Thursday said it has partnered with the Pimpri Chinchwad Smart City (PCSCL) to build an e-governance platform.
PCSCL is a special purpose vehicle of the Maharashtra government and the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) to turn Pimpri-Chinchwad into a smart city.
The proposed platform will use SAP S/4HANA as the enterprise resource planning (ERP) system, which will be integrated into a geographical information system (GIS), as well as business intelligence solutions and digital workflows, a statement said.
The solution is expected to be rolled out in two years and will be managed by Atos for the next five years, it said.
The platform will offer the smart city project a scalable and integrated system that will help business across eight zones and 32 wards of Pimpri-Chinchwad, the statement said.
“We expect this end-to-end computerization of the corporation functioning using geographical information in the most optimal way for our operation and to provide services to citizens efficiently and effectively,” Shravan Hardikar, CEO and director of PCSCL and commissioner of PCMC, said.
The to-be-built GIS will require a door-to-door survey of the city’s properties and a light detection and ranging survey (LIDAR) for better management of assets and calculations of property tax.
Atos said that the digital workflows would benefit citizens with online and updated paperless reports, while aiding the corporation with better decision making through actionable insights derived from the BI tools.
