Mumbai-based startup accelerator Startup Reseau on Friday announced it has shortlisted 35 Indian B2B startups for the inaugural cohort of its market access programme launched in December 2020. 

The companies operate across a variety of industries,  including financial services, infrastructure, large enterprise accounts and ESG (environmental, social and governance).

Over 50% of the companies selected for the programme --  Startup Bridge Canada--  leverage artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML). SBC received 276 applications for its first edition.

Founded by Ajay Ramasubramaniam and Sweta Tiwari, Startup Reseau is a 6-week pre-market entry startup programme for growth stage Indian startups to access and understand Canada and build their strategy to foray into North America. The accelerator has on boarded 50 mentors from Canada to guide the startups.

To facilitate entry of Indian startups in Canada, Startup Réseau has tied up with the Government of Alberta, Government of British Columbia, Government of Ontario and economic development agencies including Toronto Global, Montreal International.

The 35 founders in the cohort have cumulatively raised in excess of $26 million and run an ARR (average recurring revenue) of over $16.5 million. The average team size of one-thirds of the cohort is 40 team members, while we have three startups with team sizes exceeding 100 members. 

Here’s look at some of the interesting startups we came across in the cohort:

Dimension NXG- Founded in 2014, Mumbai-based Dimension NXG designs and builds military-grade mixed reality glasses - ‘AjnaLens’, for defence, enterprise, and education. In addition to hardware, the startup also provides its clients with end-to-end AR/VR/MR solutions that are tailored to their business needs. The startup’s existing investors include Paytm founder Vijay Shekhar Sharma, Roots Ventures’ Japan Vyas and Kajaria Ceramics’ MD Chetan Kajaria to name a few.

AssessHub-  Mumbai-based AssessHub is a talent assessment and predictive analytics platform to hire, develop, and retain talent. The platform uses AI and ML to measure job-relevant skills and auto-matches organizational DNA with human profiling to predict future performance. The technology enables correlation of huge data sets, running trend analysis and thereby helping companies make the right hiring decisions.

Discover Dollar- Bengaluru-based Discover Dollar helps retailers and brands to identify and resolve leakages like pricing errors, missed discounts, rebates by analyzing unstructured negotiation data including contracts, emails, invoices, purchase orders and payments data. Discover Dollar has helped recover more than $300M lost dollars for Fortune 500 companies such as Target, Budweiser (ABInbev), Levis, Metro, Canadian Tire etc. Their fee is payable only when they actually recover lost money.

Signzy- Signzy is a global no-code AI platform for financial services. It automates complex backend operations workflow and operational complexity decision making processes into a real-time API. This is possible due to a combination of Nebula - a no-code AI model builder and their Fintech API Marketplace of over 200+ APIs.

WhatsLoan - Founded in 2019, Bengaluru-based WhatsLoan is a digital identity on blockchain and digital lending platform to ease access to loans for borrowers and Lenders.

Catalyst Green- Catalyst green is a micro mobility business accelerator platform and wants to enable entrepreneurs to start their micro mobility business in a few simple steps and let them choose the various business bundles and focus on what they are good at and what they want to do. Catalyst Green provides an online platform to create a micro-mobility project, be it a full e-bike project, power train project or simply marketing project at a click of a button.

Oleo- Oleo’s software platform allows businesses to initially assess their Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) score by consolidating baseline data and then recommend improvement areas based on industry best practices. Their platform also enables users to achieve their targets by recommending point solutions from our vendor ecosystem and continuously monitoring ESG parameters.

MyTrux e-Commerce: Pune-based MyTrux offers a simplified digital logistics solution, through an online platform interconnecting port, consignee, shipper, freight forwarder, custom brokers, fleet operator to simplify and optimise movement with management - thereby enabling Freight discovery with Freight management.

SuperFan.AI- Mumbai-based startup which created a no-code browser based Tool to create trending Augmented Reality filters for influencers, brands & startups. SuperFan has 100’s of templates, which can be personalized with brand creatives and deployed on Instagram, Facebook & Snapchat. These AR Filters, help brands create awareness, boost user growth and increase revenues.
