Bengaluru based information technology (IT) services major Wipro on Thursday said it has launched a new Cisco Business Unit (CBU) to mark 25 years of its partnership with the San Jose headquartered networking and IT solutions giant.

The new unit will focus on the development and adoption of end-to-end digital transformation solutions, according to a statement. 

“The launch of Wipro’s Cisco Business Unit will ensure that the best of Cisco and Wipro are available to our customers through innovative joint solutions,” Oliver Tuszik, senior vice president, global strategic partner organization, Cisco, said.

The CBU is expected to offer a full stack of solutions and digital accelerators in the areas of intent-based networking, digital workplace virtualization, hybrid cloud, application transformation, security and 5G solutions.

Wipro, which is a gold-certified partner for Cisco, is one of the top 10 global system integrators for the company.

“It (CBU) will help our customers overcome disruptions in their operations, scale rapidly and transform their IT environments for greater business outcomes,” Kiran Desai, senior vice president and global head, cloud and infrastructure services, Wipro said.

Wipro said that the CBU will help customers to improve time to market and increase digitization. The unit will also consist of a competitive workforce that is trained in Cisco’s certification courses. The companies have invested together in innovation centres and labs all across major geographies.
