Josh, Commvault make top-level appointments; EbixCash expands board

Short video platform Josh has appointed Sunder Venketraman as head of creator and content ecosystem. 

Venketraman will be responsible for spearheading the short video ecosystem beyond mainstream content categories like dance, drama, comedy, and lip sync, the company said in a statement. 

“Sunder will be adding his unique creative signature to spot early trends and introduce new content genres in multiple Indian local languages. Sunder along with his team will look after the holistic development of content creators of Josh, while ensuring they are adequately equipped to become the superstars of tomorrow,” the statement added. 

In his most recent role, Venketraman headed strategy, monetization and revenue at Firework India. He has also worked with Times Television Network, 9X Media and Trigger-Happy Entertainment in the past. 
 
Josh is owned by Bengaluru headquartered VerSe Innovation, which also operates news aggregator and content platform Dailyhunt. VerSe Innovation is a technology unicorn backed by Google, Falcon Edge Capital, Microsoft, Sofina Group, B-Capital Group and James Murdoch-led private equity firm Lupa Systems.  

EbixCash 

End-to-end financial exchange platform EbixCash has appointed financial services veteran S Ravi as a new independent director to its board. 

“EbixCash has built a global presence today with clients in 44 countries and a leading presence in India in multiple financial technology segments. EbixCash has also become a bellwether in the remittance, foreign exchange and money transaction space. I am extremely glad to join the board of Ebixcash and to be a part of their journey in India,” Ravi said. 

Ravi is presently serving as the chairman and director of Tourism Finance Corporation of India, the premier government owned financial Institution, set-up to promote tourism in India. He also currently serves on the boards of Aditya Birla Health Insurance Company, Star Union Dai-ichi Life Insurance Company, Aditya Birla ARC, IIFL Asset Management and SBI Payment Services. 
 
He has served as the chairman of Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and as the chairman of UTI Trustee Company in the past. 
 
EbixCash is a subsidiary of Atlanta based Ebix,  which provides on-demand software and ecommerce services to the insurance, financial, healthcare and e-learning industries. Last week, the company announced the appointment of former chief economist and former director of the division of economic and risk analysis at the US Securities and Exchange Commission SP Kothari to its board. 

Commvault 

New Jersey based data solutions provider Commvault has named Anshuman Rai as area vice president, India and South Asia. Rai will be responsible for accelerating growth across the entire India and South Asia region, the company said in a statement. He will drive sales execution excellence. 
 
Rai joins Commvault from UiPath where he was the regional VP of sales for India domestic business, managing India and South Asia. He has worked with Dell EMC Solutions, HP, and Wipro in the past.
