Chennai based InsurTech platform Vital has raised $3 million in a pre-series A funding round led by BLinC Invest.

Venture Catalysts, Survam Partners and other angel investors participated in the round.

The company was founded in 2020 by Rahul Kumar and Jayan Mathews. Rahul Kumar is known for co-founding matchmaking application Truly Madly, while Jayan Mathews was head of product at Apollo Munich Health Insurance.

Vital said it aims to personalise coverage for insurers based on many key factors. The customisation will help them offer premiums at 70% less than competition, the company said.

Samaaro

Bengaluru based virtual events platform Samaaro has closed an investment round of $125,000 from multiple angel investors. The investors include Zivame founder Richa Kar, Swiggy AVP Naman Gupta, and senior VP of Comscore Kedar Gavane.

Other angel investors who participated in the round included Shreya Ghorawat from Philip Morris International, Google’s Garvita Bajpai, Flipkart’s Abhimanyu Shekhawat, Swiggy’s Nishad Kenkre, INSEAD’s Chaitanya Kalipatnapu, Adda52’s Shivanandan Pare, and High Radius’s Aniket Pandey.

The company plans to utilise the fresh capital in the areas of product innovation, hiring new talent and expand clientele globally.

Mumbai based customer engagement and communications solutions startup Netcore Cloud has picked up a minority stake in omnichannel Customer Lifecycle Management platform Easyrewardz. The details of the transaction were not disclosed.

The partnership is expected to help Easyrewardz to innovate and expand globally. For Netcore, it will be able to offer its CLM stack to customers across multiple touchpoints, the company said. 

Easyrewardz was co-founded in 2011 by Tejas Kadakia, Sapan Kadakia, Angad Singh, and Soumya Chatterjee. It has raised a total funding amount of $6 million in over three rounds. Easyrewardz currently caters to close to 170+ brands in about 18,000+ stores.
