Homegrown information technology (IT) services major Wipro has announced a partnership with Securonix, a leading security information and event management vendor.
Under the engagement, the Bengaluru-headquartered company plans to combine its global reach and cybersecurity intelligence capabilities with Securonix’s cloud-first SIEM, analytics-driven detection and automated response tools. It will join as a partner in the Securonix FUEL program, bolstering its managed security offerings.
The effort, Wipro said, will enable it to provide organizations with improved governance and security threat protection, helping them navigate various aspects of cybersecurity, starting from 24/7 security monitoring and incident response to threat intelligence, vulnerability management, and application and network security.
“Our partnership with Securonix -- a SIEM platform that’s trusted by half of the Fortune 500 -- is playing a key role in Wipro managed security services and underscores the larger industry need for realtime analytics combined with a world-class detection and incident response platform,” Tony Buffomante, senior VP and global head for cybersecurity and risk services at Wipro, said.
The company claims this engagement will improve its customers’ cyber organizational effectiveness, resiliency, and achieve a cost-effective positive security posture. The services provided are backed by Security Operations Center (SOC) best practices, regulatory and compliance requirements, as well as cyber-risk advisory and assurance, it added.
In the first quarter ending June 30, 2021, Wipro reported a 35% year-on-year jump in consolidated net profit to Rs 3,230 crore. Revenue of the company rose 22.4% YoY to Rs 18,250 crore.
