TCS to help Dutch semiconductor maker NXP with its digital transformation initiatives

Mumbai-based IT giant Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has partnered with Dutch semiconductor organisation NXP to help the latter with its digital transformation initiatives and solutions aimed at better user experiences.

NXP, headquartered in Eindhoven in Netherlands, manufacturers semiconductor chips in the areas of automotive, industrial, IoT, mobile and communications infrastructure markets.

As part of the partnership, TCS will aid NXP with its integrated IT services strategy across applications, IT infrastructure and workplace services.

TCS said it will address services in the enterprise, manufacturing and engineering functions.

The new IT solutions platform is expected to improve the speed of innovation and provide better efficiencies.

TCS will also help NXP with its cloud adoption needs.

"We are delighted to expand our decade-long strategic partnership with NXP to help them build a new future-ready digital core,” V Rajanna, global head, Technology Business Unit, TCS, said.

NXP is spread across four sites in India with more than 2,500 engineers and close to 500 patents.

The sites are focused on creating chips for the automotive, IoT, industrial and mobile markets.

Indian Brand Equity Foundation (IBEF) had said in a blog that India has a fast growing electronics system design manufacturing industry with more than 120 units dedicated to chip design.

The Department of Electronics and Information Technology (DeitY), also said that close to 2,000 chips are being designed here every year, while more than 20,000 engineers are working on different areas of chip design.
