UPDATE: THE COMPANY HAS CLARIFIED THAT IT DID NOT RECEIVE THE ORDER FROM TESLA MOTORS. INSTEAD, THE ORDER WAS FROM A COMPANY CALLED TESLA POWER USA. THE SAME HAS BEEN CLARIFIED IN THIS ARTICLE. NEWS AGENCY IANS HAD ORIGINALLY REPORTED THAT THE ORDER WAS PLACED BY TESLA MOTORS.

Although Tesla Inc may not have made an official foray into India, but the company has already taken baby steps by placing a bulk order for portable inverters from a Noida-based startup Oxy Neuron India Pvt. Ltd.  

The startup, incubated at the Startup Incubation and Innovation Centre (SIIC), said that its ‘Magic Box’ Smart Lithium wall mount portable inverter has bagged first order from Tesla India.

The company claims that the device is 94 percent more efficient and is not only compatible with solar charging capabilities but can also be used for charging EVs.  

It further added that the inverter has been built using pure copper wiring and is powered using LiPo4 batteries with high-quality cells.  

Ashutosh Verma, Founder of Oxy Neuron India, said, “The Lipon inverter is a new and innovative device which helps to store electricity and reduce carbon footprint at astronomical levels.

Such innovations are the need of the hour especially in rural India which needs much attention. The magic inverter is expected to solve the issue of electricity backup in rural India.”
