Mahindra taps Google Cloud to drive its business growth

Mahindra Group has partnered with Google Cloud to power its digital transformation strategy and fuel the company’s next phase of business growth. 

Under the collaboration, Mahindra Group’s digital, data and cloud centre of excellence, referred to as Mahindra Digital Engine (MDE), will be leveraging on Google Cloud’s infrastructure and advanced data analytics technology to drive ‘innovation’ across the group’s multiple business units, it said in a statement. 

Mahindra’s Chief Technology Officer Mohit Kapoor said that the group is leveraging on cloud-based technologies and data-driven strategies to speed decision making and maximize synergies across its business. 

“By utilising Google Cloud’s infrastructure and data capabilities, we can innovate faster for competitive differentiation, advance our enterprise sustainability goals, and strengthen our talent pool by attracting the best tech talent in the industry,” he revealed. 

According to an official statement, Mahindra will be tapping the engineering prowess and the best practices of Google Cloud’s Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) and Dev SecOps practices. This will help in driving in-house talent to continue to scale their technical capabilities to meet the needs of its ever-expanding business.

In January, Mahindra and Mahindra (M&M), the automotive arm of the Mahindra Group, also went for a similar digital transformation drive for which it allied with SAP India. Under the pact, German tech major will be facilitating M&M to switch to a secure and managed cloud environment, while moving to a ‘microservices’ enabled open stack environment through its business technology platform.
